Last month, our driver, Joe Kelly and three of his friends embarked on an unforgettable adventure, driving the famous North Coast 500 route in northern Scotland.

Covering an astounding 640 miles in just two days, this trip was not only a test of endurance and camaraderie but also a heartfelt tribute to a beloved family member.

The Journey Begins

Joe set off on this incredible journey in a car that was as unique as the trip itself. Purchased for just £400, Joe’s vehicle was no ordinary car.

The night before setting off, he roller-painted it pink, turning heads and spreading smiles wherever he went. The vibrant car quickly became a local sensation, capturing the hearts of both residents and fellow tourists along the route.

Turning an Adventure into a Mission

Inspired by the positive reactions and the memorable experiences, Joe decided to use this opportunity to support a cause very close to his heart.

He dedicated his North Coast 500 journey to raising funds for Sepsis Research FEAT, in memory of his father, who tragically passed away from sepsis on New Year’s Day 2019. Joe’s personal connection to the cause added a profound layer of meaning to the adventure.

A Tribute to His Father

The decision to turn the trip into a fundraiser was a poignant one. Joe’s father had always been a significant influence in his life, and this journey was a way to honour his memory.

By raising awareness and funds for Sepsis Research FEAT, Joe aimed to contribute to the fight against this devastating condition and support ongoing research efforts.
